The Story of Bettie's

What We’re All About

Bettie's was born out of passion. A passion driven by a personal experience of diabetes and a family tradition with the need to intersect the two. Christy was diagnosed with Diabetes in late 2019. She  quit her job to focus on her health. As Christy’s health got better, she became restless. The need to  do something was so strong. A thought that has always stuck with Christy for years was, when you  are eating desserts all those negative feelings seem to melt with each bite. And that my friend is how  Bettie's was born. Choosing Betties as a name was not hard for her. Christy’s paternal grandmother,  the woman behind the original Betties recipe, was named Betty. She loved her grandmother and  wanted to share her with others. However, the story behind the name does not stop there. She also  chose Bettie's because of what the name means. Being a survivor of 14 years of domestic violence the  name Betty (an attractive woman, a babe, a hottie to name a few) is a positive reinforcement! Her  husband lovingly jokes that Christy is trying to give everyone diabetes, she sure is…  one cheesecake at a time!
